Dcn. Stephen Fahrig is a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Louis who is   assigned to Our Lady of Lourdes parish in University City. A friend of the monastery, he also serves Benediction for the nuns weekly. Dcn. Fahrig is an Associate Professor of Biblical Theology at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, a Licentiate of Sacred Theology from Weston Jesuit School of Theology and a Doctorate of Sacred Theology from Boston College. With his rich knowledge of Sacred Scripture and the grace of his ordination, Dcn. Fahrig will be the first deacon to preach all nine nights of the St. Louis Discalced Carmelite’s Annual Solemn Outdoor Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
