Mary, Mother of the Eucharist
Rosary in chapel at 7:15
Benediction in chapel at 7:40
Mass on the grounds at 8:00
Dear Child of Mary,
This year, during the 75th Solemn Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we are privileged to welcome Fr. Michael Monshau, O.P., as our speaker for all nine nights of the Novena. He has chosen “Mary, Mother of the Eucharist” as the theme of his talks.
To whom shall we look for a greater faith and love of the Eucharist than Our Blessed Mother? Most of us have, perhaps, never reflected that the blood of Our Savior came from His Mother. She is therefore totally involved, although mysteriously, in every celebration of the Eucharist, His true body and blood.
We read in Scripture that it was His Mother who asked her son to work His first public miracle. At the wedding feast in Cana, it was Mary who first noticed that the young couple’s wine had run out. She did not want them to suffer embarrassment. She told her Son, “They have no wine.” Jesus hesitated, aware that “his hour” of public ministry had not yet come. Mary’s confidence in Jesus’ power and goodness remained unshaken, and she exhorted the servers to carry out her Son’s instructions. The water in the jars was changed into wine.
Each time we attend Mass, by faith, we see ordinary bread changed into the Body of Christ and ordinary wine changed into the Blood of Christ. When we spend time in adoration, we spend time with Jesus.
Let us, together with Mary, honor her Beloved Son during this Novena, and may our faith in the Eucharist become ever more like Mary’s.
O, Sacrament most holy, O, Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.

“Immaculate Virgin, mother of Jesus and our mother, we invoke you under the title of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament because you are the Mother of the Savior present in the Eucharist. From you He received the flesh and blood with which He feeds us in Holy Communion….”
St. Peter Julian Eymard
Prayer to OLMC
O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, blessed Mother of the Son of God, immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein you are my Mother. O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succor me in this my necessity. There are none that can withstand your power. O show me herein you are my Mother. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you. Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Pray for us!
